Tasting the Crop
Today we were able to enjoy the crop that we grew earlier in the year! Each day two 2nd graders would come up to the greenhouse to water their plants with help from the 5th graders. They have been extremely engaged in this project. The kiddos partnered with 5th graders to taste cilantro, parsley, pickled beets, potatoes, carrot cake, chives, lettuce, and spinach. They also found their plants and decided to bring them home or put them in the compost bin! What a fun culminating event!! Thanks to Mr. Barnes for organizing!
Showing 1st Graders the Ropes!
A first grade class came to visit yesterday and see what 2nd grade is all about! The 2nd graders wrote letters telling the 1st graders all about special activities they can look forward to next year. Next they read with the 1st graders in the bean bags in the common area. This was the 1st time most of the younger kids had been to the 2-8! You should have seen the quality of the letters written to the 1st graders. The 2nd graders sure were proud of the work they had done this year!
