Work on Writing

During Daily 5, the kids have 5 literacy activities to practice to build their stamina. One of the choices is to work on their writing. Caiden likes to write songs in his journal! 

Math Journals

Our question today focused on many skills. The children used place value, greater than and less than, and written explanations! 

Math in Our Message

Sammy and Ella lead us through morning meeting and read the message with us. The check in question today was to write a way to show 58. The kids had some very creative equations.

Check For Understanding

A comprehension strategy we use to ensure our understanding of text is "check for understanding". After every few pages we read, we stop and ask ourselves, "who is in the story and what is happening?"

Sequencing Stories

We read another story for the kids to retell. A major component of reading is comprehension. After reading a story we retell the details, draw a specific part, and then sequence the story back together.
