Building Stamina

The kids have been building stamina while reading to themselves each day. They have to:

Stay in one spot

Read the whole time

Get started right away

Read quietly

This will become one of their daily activities as I read with small groups.

We have been discussing why authors write and we have come up with 3 main purposes: to entertain, to persuade, and to inform. Today we explored ways to inform our readers. We wrote "how to...", "all about..." and made a few lists!
