Today was our last day with Miss Renzetti. She has taught in our classroom and with Mr. White since January. The kids adored her and she will make a fabulous teacher!

Personal Narratives

The kiddos finished their personal narratives after a lot of hard work! They wrote hooks to entice the reader, step by step action plans to add details that place the reader at the scene, transitions, dialogue, and a strong conclusion. They edited and rewrote their narratives with detailed pictures.

Readers Ask Questions!

We have spent quite a bit of time learning to read and reading to learn! Good readers ask questions as they read to better understand the text. The kids have been practicing making inferences to the questions they have when authors don't explain. We use our schema: prior knowledge, and context clues to make inferences that help us better understand what we read.

Greenhouse Planting!

We finally planted our veggies in the greenhouse! There was a lot of work that needed completed behind the scenes before we could begin. Mr. Barnes and Mrs. Laughbaum worked hard to get everything ready for our project. The kids planted tomatoes, carrots, lettuce, and spinach....the votes they received earlier this year!
